Social & Image — How to Read APY (and Spot Yields That Are Too Good to Be True)¶
X (Twitter)¶
That "5.2% APY" isn't a promise — it's a forecast. In DeFi lending the rate moves by the hour, because it's just borrowers' interest passed through to you. And when a yield looks spectacular, ask one question: who's paying for it? 🔗

The biggest APY on the screen is the most misunderstood number in DeFi. Our new beginner primer teaches you to read it honestly:
- What APY actually means (including why compounding makes it a fuller measure than plain interest).
- Why it's variable, not fixed — a live snapshot of borrowing demand, more like a weather forecast than a bank CD.
- The real risks nobody should hide: smart-contract risk, market and liquidity risk, rate risk, and the big one — no FDIC, no safety net.
- The "too good to be true" test: for any eye-popping yield, ask who is paying it and why. If nobody can tell you, walk away.
FairWins' Earn section shows estimated APYs pulled live from Morpho, labels them as estimates rather than promises, charges no fee, and shows the exact cost of any action before you approve it. 🔗
What's your rule of thumb for a yield that looks too good?

Image prompt (Gemini / Nano Banana)¶
A clean modern editorial illustration of a large percentage-yield figure rendered as a gently fluctuating line-graph forecast — like a weather chart — with a small honest "estimate" cloud drifting above it, and one absurdly tall spike in the distance quietly flagged by a small warning glow to suggest "too good to be true." Deep navy and teal base with a single warm amber accent on the warning glow. Soft calm lighting, generous negative space, trustworthy and educational mood rather than corporate or alarmist. No text, no logos, no watermarks. Aspect ratio 16:9.
