Social & Image — Moving Your Data Between Devices Without a Server That Can Read It¶
X (Twitter)¶
Cross-device sync with no backend: FairWins re-creates your backup key from a wallet signature (same wallet, same key, every device), locks your data on your own device, uploads the scrambled file to public storage, and writes a tiny pointer on-chain. 🔗 #privacy #web3

Your app has no backend — that's the privacy promise. But it also means a member's address book and settings live in one browser. Open the app on a second device: empty. The usual fix is a sync server, which recreates exactly the database of user data the whole design exists to avoid.
FairWins' answer keeps the no-backend promise intact, and the new post walks each stage in plain terms:
- A key stored nowhere: your wallet signs one fixed message, and a standard wallet reproduces the same signature — and the same key — on every device. Nothing is stored, sent, or escrowed.
- One bundle per wallet — address book, preferences, vault references, activity ledger — with per-item merge rules and network labels so each contact restores to the right network.
- The locked file goes to public storage; a tiny, money-free on-chain pointer says where — and only your wallet can set it.
- Honest failure modes: "no backup" and "couldn't check" are different states, and a wrong key can only ever fail its integrity check — never produce a garbled restore.

Would you trust a key that's re-created on demand rather than stored, or is a recovery-code escape hatch non-negotiable?

Image prompt (Gemini / Nano Banana)¶
Clean modern abstract-geometric editorial illustration: a laptop and a smartphone rendered as minimal translucent glass silhouettes at opposite sides of the frame, linked not directly but through a high arc of small encrypted cubes flowing up into a stylized distributed-storage constellation — faceted nodes joined by thin luminous lines — with a tiny, solitary beacon marker beneath the arc representing the on-chain pointer. The cubes are visibly sealed and opaque-cored, suggesting scrambled data in transit through public space. Deep navy base with layered teal gradients and a faint isometric grid; one warm amber accent lights the single key glyph hovering beside both devices, identical on each side. Soft diffuse lighting, subtle glow on connection lines, precise fintech-engineering minimalism, ample negative space. No text, no logos, no watermarks. Aspect ratio 16:9.
